Kuat Piston SR Roof 1 Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

Kuat Piston SR Roof 1 Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500

How's it going everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Piston SR Rooftop Bike Rack on our 2022 GMC Sierra. So this is the type of bike rack you might wanna use if your bed is full, or if you have some sort of crossbar set up and you don't wanna use them in the back and you already have something in your hitch, it's a good way to get a bike to where you're going and still have room for other things. This roof rack holds onto your bike by two wheel mounts, a dual wheel mount on either tire, which is nice because we have a carbon frame bike here, and it doesn't make any contact with the frame of the bike itself which could potentially damage the frame. Additionally, this does support a weight of up to 67 pounds, so if you have a larger bike or an e-bike you could actually transport it on your roof. That being said, getting it on and off the roof on a taller vehicle like this has already proved to be a challenge with a lighter bike. more

This roof bike rack holds onto our bike through primarily this wheel hook. It does have a lock core on the hook itself, so we can lock the hook to the bike. more

How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima HighRoad Roof Bike Rack on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. This could be a good option for you if you're just trying to get one bike rack where you need it to go, but maybe you have something in your trailer already, or your bed's too full to use a tailgate pad, and this could be a good option if you have a roof rack system. It doesn't take up a ton of space on the bars so this could be a good option for you if that's your situation. This bike rack is nice because it doesn't make any frame contact with your actual bike, so if you we're using a carbon frame bike or an alternative frame, it would still work fine for that. Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 GMC Acadia, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HighRoad Roof Bike Rack, part number Y02114. This is a clamp-on style bike rack, meaning there's not going to be any frame contact at all. Instead, it's going to grip around your tires, as you see here, which is going to save you some time from having to remove the tire as you would with the fork mounts. We'll also have a wheel strap at the rear, which is adjustable, to accommodate bikes of different sizes. We also have an integrated cable lock on the end here with a removable cap, so you can replace this with a Yakima Same Key System Lock Core, so you can secure your bike to the roof rack as well. There is a lock, also, on the top portion here to secure your bike rack to the roof rack. With everything installed as it is, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between our rear hatch and our bike rack, as you can see here. So, let's go ahead and take our bike off and set it aside. more
